I realized I had not written an introductory blog, so I figured it would be good to explain my vision and plan for the blog and why I do it. To put it plain and simple, I love sports. I love talking about it, writing about it, thinking about it, and absorbing it from the point of view of my couch or inside of a dive bar. I wanted to create an outlet for myself to let takes fly. I want to start this introduction by discussing my writing style. I do not have a journalism degree or an English degree. For those who are new here or do not know me personally, I am not a profound writer with a deeper-than-average meaning of the English language. I am just a regular dude who likes to spend his free time discussing sports. I like to use comedic, out-of-the-box views when I am writing. I enjoy discussing topics that most people wouldn't even think about. I like to be weird; it is where I feel the most comfortable. I love to be a sicko. Sickos are the backbone of sports, and they are what make sports so great. Sicko: An individual that does nothing but consumes sports 24/7, a die-hard fan of an individual sport or specific team.

My plan for this blog is to write mostly about college football. I am a college football hardo, sicko, and all of the above. I consume it year-round, even in the off-season. I have been a passionate fan of the sport since I was a wee lad. My weekly schedule for college football writing during the season will be as follows:

Sunday: Past week review.

Tuesday-Friday: Best Bets, Key Matchups, and updates on my football spreadsheet.

To dive into the spreadsheet mentioned above, I track the time the games begin, what channels they are on, and the odds of the games. I like to pick who will win and who will cover the spread for each game. For those unfamiliar with sports gambling and without any idea what a "spread" is, just give it a quick Google search. I am not here to explain gambling. I have to do that enough with my lovely wife. Within this spreadsheet, I will track how I do on my picks and add them up at the end of the year. I have finished above 50% on spreads for the past two years. Also, each week, I create 5-10 "locks". These locks are picks I confidently think will win and will put money on. In previous years, I have dominated my locks. But this year, I am getting my ass kicked—more on that in this week's Best Bets blog.

As I get into more of a writing schedule, I will discuss different sports and Texas State news. I am an alumnus of Texas State, an athletics donor, and a die-hard fan of the University. You might often see some game or season previews of only Texas State athletics. I also plan to cover NFL, NBA, and Golf. Of course, the college football schedule I stated above will not always follow through. I am a sicko, but also a busy human with a life outside of sports and work. I will strive to make as much time as possible for this blog and never rush a blog or any project I am working on. Even though I am not trying to be ultra-serious, I still want my blogs to be polished and crisp.

We will see how the blog grows, and how much engagement I get on my projects. I am just happy I finally made a creative space to put my odd thoughts out there. One day, it might turn into more than just blogs. It can be a space for podcasting, publishing videos, and much more. All of my friends have access to the site and can blog as they please. But the bulk of the action will be taken on by yours truly. For any other sickos that would like to create sports content or anyone with tips and tricks for my website, please reach out to me. I am open to all criticism or ideas.

Welcome to the freak show, ladies and gentlemen. I hope you enjoy my blogs.
