Formula 1 returns this weekend from its annual summer break and the sport looks drastically different than it did at this point last season. Last year during the summer break there were just two winners, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. Both of whom are Red Bull drivers. The 2024 F1 season, however, has given us seven different drivers standing on the top step of the podium from four different constructors. To celebrate this variety, I will post my top three best bets for every race for the remainder of the season, starting this week at the Circuit Zandvoort in Zandvoort, Netherlands.
Best Bet #1: Top Ten Finish - Yuki Tsunoda
Odds: +180
Tsunoda has registered a points finish in seven of the fourteen races so far, he has done so on a mix of strategies and despite some mistakes, he has comfortably outperformed his teammate Daniel Ricciardo this season, whose odds to place top ten sit at -105.
Best Bet #2: Podium Finish - Lewis Hamilton
Odds: +135
The king of Formula 1 has been on a heater lately. He has won two of the last three races and finished on the podium in the other. If this is a sign that Mercedes have finally figured out the current set of regulations then it would stand to reason that the man with the most podiums of all time finds a way to get in the mix this weekend.
Best Bet #3: Race Winner - Max Verstappen
Odds: +165
Max Verstappen has won at Zandvoort each of the last three years. It is his home race, and he has plus odds. Trying not to overthink this one
